INNOPhotovoltaik

In this project, innovative business models are identified for the smart and forward-looking use of photovoltaics in agriculture.

Project duration: 2021–2023

Photovoltaics Tool for Individual Use

As part of the INNOPhotovoltaik project, a simple Excel tool for individual use was developed, among other things.

By using this tool, users get an initial overview of how different parameters (location, system sizing, investment in storage systems, etc.) affect the profitability and operation of a sample system.

Note: The tool does not provide reliable statements regarding the sizing and profitability of a specific system. For calculating the profitability and sizing of a specific PV system, interested parties can make use of a consultation with the Innovation & Energy Department of the South Tyrolean Farmers’ Association.

Objectives

As part of the INNOPhotovoltaik project, the following objectives are pursued:

  • Assessing the potential of photovoltaic systems in order to develop farm-level business models for agriculture
  • Providing information and practical guidance through consultations, and disseminating the knowledge gathered
  • Promoting awareness of photovoltaic potential and securing an additional source of income for agricultural holdings

Consulting on Photovoltaic Planning

As part of the INNOPhotovoltaik project, 30 agricultural holdings were able to take advantage of consulting on photovoltaic planning. The consultations have now been completed.

Results

Photovoltaics Guide

s part of the project, the Photovoltaics Guide was revised.

This guide offers (future) system operators and interested parties numerous tips for successfully implementing a PV system. This helps ensure that solar energy can be used as effectively as possible to meet individual needs.

Partners

Together with the project partner, work is being carried out on innovative business models for the use of photovoltaics in agriculture, and on building a network between agricultural holdings and experts.

Support

With the support of the Province of South Tyrol.
